Learn to longarm session (3 hours)

Now you can experience the absolute joy of finishing your own quilt on a professional  longarm machine with fun, easy digital pantographs.  You don't need previous longarm experience.  We walk you through the full setup and provide ongoing support during your entire appointment.

Appointments are morning or afternoon.  For $100* you will have the opportunity to learn longarm basics like how to load a quilt, operate a digital longarm, and you will finish your own small quilt.

LONG ARM RENTALS in the Quilting with Murphy Studio!! 

Experience the absolute joy of quilting your own quilts using a professional long arm
quilting machine fun and easy digital pantographs.

No long arm quilting experience necessary – full setup instructions and ongoing support 
from our staff during your quilting appointment. 

We have Murphy 1.0 in the studio with an 18” throat on a 12 foot table (king size) with 100s of digital pantographs.

Currently available for Learn to long arm sessions. You will learn the basics and finish a 
quilt no larger than 60” x 72” during your session.

Stay tuned for rental options for a full day (6 hours) or a half-day (3 hours morning or 
afternoon). 

We will offer Valet Services to have your quilt loaded on the frame prior to your arrival
however, by taking the Learn to long arm session, you will learn to load your own quilt or 
have us load it for you before you arrive (available until January 2027). Simply bring your 
quilt top in to the shop 48 hours prior to your appointment and choose a thread color and a quilting pattern. We will have it loaded, bobbins filled and ready to go for your quilting 
appointment.

Here’s what you need to know:

REQUIREMENTS TO LOAD YOUR PROJECT ON THE LONG ARM FRAME: 

Quilt top should be squared and trimmed.

Backing fabric should be a MINIMUM of 5” larger than quilt top on all sides. Batting 
should be a MINIMUM of 4” larger than quilt top on all sides. Do not baste your quilt top, 
batting, and backing together; they should be given to the long armer as three separate 
pieces. 

No holes.

If you would like to use a specific Glide thread color, you are welcome to bring it with you
